Changing the Toxic Environment of Fox News

Politics

All the major media outlets are abuzz over Fox’s recent release of Bill O’Reilly and what is being called the toxic environment of the network. You would think the toxicity would be sexual harassment considering the accusations towards Roger Ailes and recently Bill O’Reilly. Not that we don’t think that the accusations about O’Reilly and Ailes could be true, and yes Fox has had to pay out millions of dollars to settle several lawsuits. However that is not the toxic environment that James and Lachlan Murdoch are genuinely trying to change at Fox News. Fox News has been known over the last 20 years as the conservative media alternative to CNN and MSNBC.

Before turning the power over to his two sons, Rupert Murdoch sided with anything Roger Ailes wanted to do. Why not, when the network is the number one and is bringing in a billion dollars? The two sons have much more liberal views. In fact James and his progressive minded wife Katherine, have long been embarrassed of certain elements of Fox News. They trash Donald Trump on their Twitter feed quite often. It is very clear that the goal is to move Fox News to the left. The remaining talent at Fox makes a pretty good paycheck and it’s best to seem they are satisfied with the new direction the company is going.

The coveted 8 o’clock times slot now belongs to the Fox News, up and coming superstar, Tucker Carlson. What better way to say you are going in the total opposite direction, no pun intended, than Bill O’Reilly is to have your first guest be (Bruce) Caitlyn Jenner. Jenner not only identifies not only as a female now but also as a Republican. Really? That’s who Tucker picked for his first debut guest or is this a clear signal for Carlson’s conservative viewers to see transgender, Republican tolerance. Now that’s what I call changing the direction of the network.

Second Special Counsel Would Boost DOJ’s Credibility

ICYMI: A Second Special Counsel Would Boost the DOJ’s Credibility

WASHINGTON—This op ed by Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) first appeared in RealClearPolicy on December 5, 2017.

Recently, the House Judiciary Committee conducted an oversight hearing of the Department of Justice (DOJ) that allowed representatives from both parties to question Attorney General Jeff Sessions. In response, some have asserted that appointing a second special counsel to investigate decisions made by the DOJ in 2016 would be a partisan maneuver, damaging the independence of the Department.

I too am concerned about preserving the independence of the Justice Department — which is precisely why Judiciary Committee Republicans have called for a special counsel to investigate matters outside the scope of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

The Judiciary Committee’s letters have been belittled as “a laundry list of Republican grievances about Clinton and former FBI director James B. Comey.” But they document persistent and unanswered questions about the independence of the DOJ, and specifically whether it may have been compromised under the Obama administration. These letters are themselves tools of oversight to be used on behalf of the millions of Americans whose democratic government owes them answers.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s independent e-mail server warranted a DOJ investigation, even if former Attorney General Loretta Lynch provided one in name only. (Actually, she failed to deliver even that, instructing former FBI Director James Comey to call the investigation a “matter.”) Americans are well-stocked with outstanding questions about how the DOJ handled these issues, and the specter of favoritism still looms over the Obama DOJ. The possibility that the department made decisions to aid a political candidate is a potential threat to democracy — one that deserves a DOJ investigation today just as it did in 2016.

At the same time, I recognize that some of my friends across the aisle lack confidence that a Republican-appointed DOJ would conduct such an investigation impartially. Hearing those concerns, I submit that a second special counsel offers Americans the opportunity to pursue answers to these questions without even the appearance of partisan impropriety. After all, independent counsels are like dentists: They scare everyone who hasn’t flossed.

Concerns about DOJ investigations and appointing special counsels too often come to us frosted in hyper-partisan language. This obscures the crux of the liberal argument against the move: Neither the DOJ under Attorney General Jeff Sessions nor an independent special counsel is capable of investigating Clinton. According to this logic, there exists no credible path for investigating potential favoritism on the part of America’s chief law enforcement officials. It would follow that the world’s strongest democracy is impotent when it comes to pursuing objective, unfettered, non-partisan accountability of its own federal agencies.

As a member of the committee charged with exercising oversight of the entire Department of Justice and the representative of approximately 700,000 Georgian voices, I have a bit more faith in the checks and balances that undergird our justice system — including the utility of the special counsel position.

Party loyalty aside, the DOJ made many decisions last year that have led to a host of unresolved questions, and the American people deserve answers. For example, why did former Attorney General Lynch direct former FBI Director Comey to mislead the American people on the nature of the Clinton investigation? Why did Mr. Comey prepare a statement ending the investigation into former Secretary Clinton before interviewing 17 key witnesses, including the former secretary herself?

These and other questions about the independence of the DOJ continue to cast a shadow on our nation’s justice system. By addressing them directly, a second special counsel could strengthen the DOJ’s credibility, reestablishing its reputation as a non-partisan agent of justice.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) is Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference and a member of the House Judiciary Committee.

Fact vs. Fiction: Senator Perdue Lays Out The Facts About Tax On Fox News

Fact vs. Fiction: Senator Perdue Lays Out The Facts About Tax On Fox News

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator David Perdue (R-GA) spoke with Shannon Bream on Fox News @ Night to clear up the misinformation about the U.S. Senate’s plan to fix the tax code, help middle-class families, and make America more competitive again.

Fiction: The GOP tax plan will add $1 trillion to the national debt.

Fact“I am more optimistic that this plan is going to ignite our economy. President Trump said job one was getting our economy going again. We pulled back on regulations, unleashed our energy potential, and now we have an historic opportunity to change the tax code and make American companies and workers competitive again with the rest of the world.”

Fiction: This tax plan is only going to help the wealthy and hurt lower and middle-income Americans.

Fact“Real Americans are going to benefit from this. A family of four, making the median income of $73,000 a year, will have their taxes cut almost 60%. A single mom with one child, making $41,000 a year, which is the median income for a single worker, will get a 75% tax cut. More importantly, between 3-6 million people are estimated to have their taxes go to zero. The greatest beneficiary of this plan is the person who will get a job because the economy is going to be ignited.”

Fiction: There has been no transparency to this process. The entire process was hidden from the American people and pushed through at the last minute.

Fact“Over the last few years, there have been over 70 open hearings in the Senate about changing the tax code. This has been a fully transparent process. I hear the rhetoric from the other side. This is all coming from the side who a few years ago had then-Speaker Pelosi say ‘you’ve got to pass the bill to see what’s in it.’ This has been an open process the entire time. This is regular order. It went through committee, where we had amendments offered. We’ll have amendments added to it tonight. All of this has been done in the light of day.”

Fiction: The tax plan will generate very little economic growth.

Fact“President Trump has really pushed us to make sure this plan will make American businesses grow. I believe we have accomplished that. Today, we have the highest corporate tax rate in the world, and the corporate tax rate is a huge penalty on the American worker. I know because I’ve lived in Asia and worked all over the world. We are now going to become more competitive with the rest of the world.”

Rural America is Still in Trump’s Corner & Talk of Russia has Decreased in the MSM

Politics

As always Friday is the day of fun for us at FYN. The All-Star Political Panel meets up to discuss the latest political issues and news. This week one of the main topics was the Georgia 6th Congressional District special election between (R) Karen Handel and (D) Jon Ossoff. Karen Handel came out as the victor in this race despite concerns of the amount of money raised by the Dems to help Ossoff. Many of the polls predicted Ossoff in the lead however they did not account for the “fear factor” as BKP calls it. Hear his explanation of this and his reasoning for this in this segment. They also discussed the Comey investigation and how Russia is not the main topic you hear in the main stream media this week. If you are interested in being on the All-Star Panel feel free to join us at Sycamore Crossing around 8:45 every Friday Morning.

Is The Swamp Being Drained?

Opinion

Is The Swamp Being Drained?

It must be difficult to remain a loyal Democrat when that once great American party is disintegrating because they no longer embrace the pro American message that made America exceptional, instead of promoting a foreign socialist message that aims to make America common. American’s may be individually common, but they are not Socialists or weren’t, until the Democrat Party changed its colors from red, white and blue, to shades of the rainbow.

America’s history is filled with stories of people fleeing to its shores, some for religious freedom and some for political and economic freedom. Many, most in fact, fled because didn’t want to remain surf’s to an upper class who had all the assets that made life worth living and retained all the power that could make life a hell, and often did. They were people who found little or no relief from their government because the upper classes were the government.

Those people came here because none of the ‘class’ nonsense they fled was here to interfere with their self-determination, self-reliance and freedom to prosper or pray, as they saw fit. Wise politicians of the time kept religion out of the Governments hands. Rules of conduct were limited, basically scriptural and life progressed freely, as did America. For many, it was the best of times, but not the worst. When class status tried to follow, and the taxation necessary to maintain it increased, among other issues, a war ensued and that ended that.

In America, wealth creation does not constitute a class status but Democrats use it as a hammer to denigrate Republicans. That’s sad because if it were so, many Democrats wouldn’t be in it because they hate the idea of being labeled ‘upper class,’ but they don’t hate the idea of being wealthy. However, despite the best efforts of the founding fathers who's foresaw the dangers of unbridled power, a political class did develop, oft times with wealthy influence (bribery), that gave a measure of unearned power to individual legislators that they could manipulate to their financial advantage. Quickly, a political class, ‘the swamp,’ developed.

On 8 November 2016, a great sigh of relief was heard across the land and the political class went nuts because Trump promised to drain the swamp and started doing it. Months later they’re still going nuts because slowly, the swamp started to drain and the dysfunction of the corrupt political class, intent on stopping the hemorrhage by organizing their best combined efforts to stop if not eliminate the threat, has started apace. Their animus is showing.

Now, do we suspect the swamp might not get drained after all? The other great American Party, the Republicans, many who slop at the trough of political class privilege, have acted against America’s best interests because it's more important to them to have power than save America. The “Never Trump” Republicans actively, but stealthily, connive with Democrats to undermine the President. This is the chance conservative America has waited for and yet the alleged GOP conservatives can’t accept that. By doing so they ignore the Socialist govt. that for eight destructive years, suppressed conservative Americans in order to maintain the corrupt status quo, that was always the socialists Democrat agenda.

With Trump’s election, that’s about all washed away, yet establishment Republicans still believe in Political Class superiority over the people and so conspire with the dying Democrats to keep the swamp from being drained. Will they lose our trust or have they already lost it? Recent elections suggest they should not be too alarmed but other issues are in motion now. The 2018 midterms could challenge their thinking if not their actions. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em!

6th District Candidate (R) Karen Handel Releases Campaign Video Going After (D) Jon Ossoff

Politics

The failed American Health Care Act just changed the entire GA 6th Congressional District race. Karen Handel releases a very good campaign video going after John Ossoff but can Republicans promise to stop Nancy Pelosi’s agenda? And that they are the party that can deliver? Although Handel’s campaign video may have the right message, it may be the wrong time. #BKP explains how the failed bill may be a gift to Ossoff and leaves Republican candidates scrambling to decide which side of the Republican party they are on. Three strikes and the Republican party could lose the House.

Who is Responsible for Obama Care Now – Republicans or Democrats? Will Republicans Ever be Able to Govern as a Majority Party?

Who is Responsible for Obama Care Now – Republicans or Democrats? How will the failed Health Care Bill affect the elections in 2018? How will the failed Health Care Bill Act will affect the GA 6th Congressional District election? When Obama Care collapses who will the voters hold responsible #BKP thinks that the Republicans now own Obama care, lock stock, and barrel, and 2018 voters will hold Republicans responsible for the collapse. Republicans broke the biggest promise that they made to the American people. They can no longer go back to the well and say they are the party that can deliver.
