Cleveland Carter, 58, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday October 31, 2019 at his residence following a short illness.
Born February 15, 1961 in Gwinnett County, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 12 years having moved from Gainesville. Mr. Carter formerly was a driver for Tim Hubbard Trucking. He enjoyed working of cars, watching westerns on TV, and he was very devoted to his family. Cleveland was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by his father, Richard Carter; twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Carter; and his step-father, Jerry Lee Blalock.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Amy Carter, Dawsonville; children, Michael Carter, Jasper, Ricky and Crystal Carter, Jasper, Victoria Carter and her fiancé Zachery Swofford, Dawsonville, Savannah Carter and her fiancé Trent Hensley, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Juleeanna Carter, Leeland Carter, James Carter; mother, Betty Blalock, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Tina Thornton, Dawsonville, Rita and Dwight Nelson, Gainesville, Angie and Randy Lynn, Commerce, Christy and David McGee, Winder; brother and sister in law, Randy and Becky Carter, Midway; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 4, 2019 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Hubbard will officiate. Interment will follow in the Clear Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Johns Creek at 2 o’clock.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.

Mary Judith Miller, 60, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Wednesday December 4, 2019 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Mary was born February 8, 1959 in Biloxi, Mississippi, she lived a number of years in Ohio and had recently moved to Dawsonville from McDonough, GA. A loving wife and a nurturing mother, she loved life and her gentleness and good sense of humor was evident. She possessed a great passion for music and loved to sing in the choirs of the churches she attended. She loved her God, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was actively involved at the Howland United Methodist Church in Warren, Ohio. Mary was preceded in death by her father, James Howard Marshall and her sister, Nancy Ann Marshall.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Daro Gene Miller, Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Brian James and Jordan Grantham Miller, Cumming, GA; grandsons, Chandler Grantham Miller and Raiden Marshall Miller; mother, Shirley Mae Marshall, Vienna, Ohio; sisters, Barbara Edwards, Fowler, Ohio, Sally Thompson, Keymar, Maryland, Laura Lo Verme, Cortland, Ohio, Bonnie Isaac, Pulaski, Pennsylvania; father in law, Richard H. Miller, Vienna, Ohio. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday December 7, 2019 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home.
Another memorial service will be held in Howland, Ohio at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation.

Joyce Parks, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday December 3, 2019 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born May 27, 1934 to the late Farland Jacob and Thelma Alice Padgett, Joyce lived a number of years in Lawrenceville and Marietta before returning to Dawson County 35 years ago. A charter member of Trinity Baptist Church, Joyce worked as a homemaker throughout her life and was extremely devoted to her family. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Padgett.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Hub Parks, Dawsonville; sons and daughters in law, Dennis K. Parks, Jacksonville, FL, Lonnie C. and Kathy Parks, White, GA, Clay and Libby Parks, Somerset, KY; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters and brother in law, Shirley and Woodrow Wilson, Dawsonville, Frances and Les Pethrick, Marietta; brothers and sisters in law, Max and Daisy Padgett, Dawsonville, Ray and Diane Padgett, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday December 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Scott Christopher will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday December 5 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
