Two injuries reported in Sunday mobile home fire

DAWSONVILLE, Ga — Dawson County Fire Department units were dispatched to a reported working mobile home fire at 12:26 p.m. today (March 31) at 5858 Hwy. 53 East.
Engine 2 arrived on scene at 12:29 p.m. with heavy smoke and flames showing from a single wide mobile home. The mobile home was over 75% involved, therefore crews operated in a defensive mode of operation. The fire was declared under control at 12:57 p.m.
It was determined that all occupants had exited the structure. Two occupants sustained injures and were transported by Med 1 to Grady.
The mobile home was searched for any additional victims or animals, after the fire was knocked down. Crews searched the structure and found two deceased canine and felines. Firefighter’s remained on scene for several hours hitting hot spots.
The Dawson County Fire Marshall’s office is currently investigating the fire. The cause is undetermined but does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
