130-acre burn in Dawson County

PRESS RELEASE – The Dawson County Government announced that they will be doing a controlled burn.
In total, 130-acres will be burned and Dawson County Government is urging residents to try and stay clear if the area as it could bring heavy smoke.
They issued the following statement.
”Weather permitting, the Georgia Forestry Commission will be conducting a 130-acre controlled burn on Thursday 3/23. The location of the burn is Burt Creek Rd near 136 and out to Shoal Creek. Heavy smoke and some fire will be visible on 136 and Burt Creek Rd. Please avoid this area if possible.”
