Rep. William Wade Qualifies for Re-Election to State House District 9

Election, Press Release

DAWSONVILLE, Ga.This week, conservative businessman William “Will” Wade qualified for a second term to serve the people of Georgia’s 9th State House District. In his first term in the Georgia House of Representatives, Will has been a strong leader to ban divisive ideologies in Georgia classrooms and a conservative champion for putting students first, cutting taxes, strengthening Georgians’ 2nd Amendment rights, and securing the ballot box.

“I am honored to serve the people of the 9th District in the Georgia House of Representatives, and over the last year and a half I have worked around the clock to keep the promises I made to my constituents on the campaign trail,” said Rep. Wade. “I am leading the effort to ban divisive ideologies from our classrooms with House Bill 1084 and have worked alongside my colleagues to allocate historic levels of funding to our schools, raise educator pay, and put parents back in charge of their child’s education.

To strengthen your right to protect yourself and your family, I am also a co-sponsor on constitutional carry legislation to expand law-abiding Georgians’ right to keep and bear arms. We have worked hard to restore public confidence in our elections by passing the Election Integrity Act, which implemented a photo ID requirement on absentee ballots, secured all ballot drop boxes around the clock, and banned outside activist groups from bankrolling our elections. That law has been ranked the top election integrity measure in the nation by the conservative Heritage Foundation.

“And despite a global pandemic, the House and Senate have worked alongside Governor Kemp to keep our state the best state for business for the 8th year in a row. While other states shut down, in Georgia we chose freedom over government lockdowns. As a result, Georgia now has the lowest unemployment rate in state history and record job growth and investment in all corners of our state – especially in rural communities like State House District 9.

“Thanks to our conservative budgeting, Republicans are now actively working to pass and sign a $1 billion dollar tax cut, over $1 billion in tax refunds to Georgia taxpayers, and a temporary suspension of the state gas tax. I look forward to strongly supporting those efforts to put more money back in the pockets of 9th district citizens.

“My family and I are asking for the honor of representing you for another two years in the Georgia House so I can continue to fight for our values at the state capitol and keep our state the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

About Will Wade:

Will is a native of Dawsonville and graduated from Dawson County High School. After enrolling at the University of North Georgia, Will worked full-time as a teller while pursuing a double major in finance and accounting. After graduating, Will began his career as a community banker and takes pride in his ability to take a chance on people looking to start or grow a business and is proud of the role he played in helping people through tough times during the Great Recession.

After seeing shortfalls 16 years ago in the same system he came up through, Will was motivated to serve his community on the Dawson County Board of Education, where he served as Chairman. During his 15 years on the board, Will led Dawson County to become one of the first system-wide charter school systems in Georgia, expanding school choice because he knows parents and students know better than the government what is best for them.

From small businesses to students, Will knows what it takes to help people succeed, and he is proud to serve the people of Georgia’s 9th State House District.
