Small Business Feature of the Week – Giggle Monkey Toys
Business, Featured May 23, 2019
As parents, we are often researching and reading articles on ways to develop the minds of our children. In today’s modern age of electronics and digital gaming, we worry about the amount of time that is wasted on screen time. Giggle Monkey Toys has wrapped this problem up for parents and introduced the resolution to our children for us in the form of a toy store. Genius right?

Giggle Monkey Toys on the Dahlonega square was purchased by John and Tammy Clower in 2014. Their Dawsonville store is managed by their daughter Stacey Clower and has been open for one year in the Dawson County Outlet Malls. This family owned and operated business focuses on toys and games in their inventory that have a developmental and educational factor for the child. John and Tammy both have an education background, Tammy is a retired school teacher, John was a Boy Scout Troop leader and college administrator, and John’s father was an elementary school principal. This rich history of education helps give them the right purchasing insight for the inventory that is provided in Giggle Monkey Toys, and provides a place for parents to feel at ease with what they are purchasing for their children.
“We try to look for things people haven’t seen” says store manager Stacey. Products like Zen Puzzles, and Joki Chairs are not found in your typical big box stores and give unique gift ideas. The owners attend trade-shows to personally review toys, and will introduce new inventory at least three times per year. Prices range from $.99 to $499, and have an extensive product line of TY, Habba, Brio, Melissa & Doug, Calico Critters, Fat Brain, and U Gears.
