Christmas parade, tree lighting postponed

DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. — Dawson County Chamber of Commerce President Christie Moore has announced that the Christmas events scheduled for today (Dec. 4) have been moved to Saturday 12/5 due to due to the rainstorms headed to north Georgia today.

The Christmas Parade and Jingle Market will now start at 4 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the city of Dawsonville’s food trucks and photos with Santa at 4:30 p.m., and the annual tree lighting at 6 p.m.

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — Christmastime’s a-coming!

If you haven’t gotten into the Christmas spirit yet, the Dawsonville Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting tomorrow (Dec. 4) is sure to put you in the right frame of mind.

From 4-8 p.m. the annual Jingle Market where local merchants display beautiful crafts and homemade products that make very special Christmas gifte for everyone.

Then at 6 p.m. the annual Christmas Parade rolls through through downtown Dawsonville, turning onto Hwy. 53 and ending at the Dawsonville Municipal Complex.

The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is next followed by music, dancing, free pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, face painting, hot cocoa and coffee.
