Duane Brannon Fant, 57, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away from cancer, February 24, 2020. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his mother, Hazel Kilgore (Bill); sisters, Dominique Fant and Penny Cornett (Rick); stepson, Isaac (Joel) de la Cruz; five nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Fant, and by his companion and friend, Lisa Anderson. He had also recently lost his best childhood friend, Rick South.
Duane was a property appraiser for the state of Georgia. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking in the woods and by lakes and streams with his beloved dogs, Bodhi, Mardi, and Koko. He was an avid reader and student of philosophy, and he loved Atlanta Braves baseball.
There will be no public service, but if you would like to remember Duane in a way that would be meaningful to him, please contribute to your local animal shelter or to the state park system.
