Fire Marshall investigating cause of outbuilding fire

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — Dawson County Fire units responded to a small outbuilding fire located at 112 Hughes Court Friday at 6:47 p.m.
Engines 2 and 3 arrived on scene at the same time to find a 500 square foot abandoned storage building with smoke and flames visible. An attack line was used to bring the fire under control quickly.
The fire was under control at 6:50 p.m.. Crews began overhauling the building and checking for hotspots. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and does appear to be suspicious in nature. Dawson County and the State Fire Marshalls Office are investigating the incident.
