Tim Cameron receives Mary Beth Bowns Trauma Award

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — Dawson County firefighter/paramedic Tim Cameron was presented the Mary Beth Bowns Award on Feb. 21 during the annual Georgia Emergency Medical Services Day at the State Capitol.

The award is presented to an individual or organization in the state for outstanding delivery of care to a critically injured patient(s). Named in honor of Mary Beth Bowns, the recipient should have exhibited excellence in the delivery of care to the trauma patient and effected positive change in the trauma care system.

Dawson County Fire and EMS is proud of Cameron, who responded to several significant trauma related calls during 2018. All victims had favorable outcomes due to the excellent patient care received.

Dawson County EMA Director/Fire Chief Danny Thompson said, “We are truly blessed to a have a top-notch Paramedic, like Tim here in Dawson. Tim has been employed with Dawson County since 2011, and works full-time with Marietta Fire. “He is a team player in every aspect of his job, and is skill set ranks amongst some of the best I’ve ever seen.”
