News July 25, 2017
DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – A Dawsonville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on SR 183 Sunday afternoon.
James Everett Evans, 75, was killed when his 1992 Ford Ranger failed to negotiate a left-hand curve one mile north of SR 53. The vehicle went off the west shoulder of the road. When the driver attempted to steer left to get back onto the roadway, it traveled across both lanes onto the east shoulder, down an embankment and struck a tree with it’s left front fender. It then overturned onto its right side where it came to a rest.
Evans, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
