DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – Dawson County commissioners will consider three special event business license applications when it meets in a work session at 4 p.m. today (June 8) and a request by Deputy Fire Chief Jim Satterfield to host a fundraising event at Fire Station 8.

Carol Stream Amusements, Inc. is requesting approval to host an outdoor carnival in the parking lot at Georgia Premium Outlets mall on Ga. 400 South from June 29 through July 9. The carnival would include amusement rides and concessions.

Phantom Firework is requesting approval to permit the sale of consumer fireworks from a temporary structure in the North Georgia Premium Outlets mall parking lot on Ga. 400 South from June 23 through July 5.

TNT Fireworks will ask commissioners to approve a permit to allow the sale of fireworks from a temporary stand in the Ingles parking lot from June 23 through July 5 with the hours of operation from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily.

Satterfield is asking board approval to hold a barbecue fundraiser at Fire Station 8 (Monument Road/ Burnt Mountain) to raise funds to pour concrete for a future water storage tank. One tank is already in place but Satterfield says the community there would like to work with Dawson County Emergency Services to move the tank from Highway 183 at Keith Evans Road because that tank is no longer needed following the construction of the Etowah Water Authority Tank and line.
