Johnny Lee Chester, 64, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday October 25, 2016 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born July 8, 1952 to the late Hosie “Bodig” and Vera Chester, Johnny was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. He worked as a dry wall finisher. Johnny was a devoted husband, father and was especially devoted to his grandchildren. A member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Don Chester.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Brenda Chester, Dawsonville; children, Stacy and Teresa Chester, Dawsonville, Lisa and Tim Bowling, Gainesville; grandchildren, Harley Marrett, Morgan Chester, Cayson Chester, Kaitlyn Chester; sister, Joan Chester Ashmore, Dawsonville; brother in law, Roger Chambers, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 27, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
