Annie Belle Summerour Moon, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday April 16, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born November 26, 1924 in Lumpkin County as a Gold Miner’s Daughter of the late David Allen and Elizabeth Rebecca Summerour, she had lived in Dawson County since 1961.  A homemaker at her death, she was employed over 22 years at Sweet Orr after which she worked as a personal caregiver.

Annie was the first Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge in Silver City. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, John T. Moon; son, Johnny Paul Moon; six sisters and seven brothers.

Surviving are her daughters and son in law, Dixie Moon, Gainesville, Nancy and Wayne Gilbert, Dawsonville; sons and daughter in law, Harvey and Nancy Moon, Augusta, Frank Moon and his special companion, Cathleen Davenport, Dawsonville, David Moon, Davisboro, GA, Jimmy Moon, Chester, GA; 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 2 o’clock at New Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Ronald Pruitt, Rev. Jack Biddy and Rev. Don Townley will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
