Yarbrough earns certification as HR manager

News

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Dawson County Human Resources Director Danielle Yarbrough has been recognized as a Certified Human Resources Manager (CHRM) by the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA).

Yarbrough, who served as Dawson County Clerk for six years before being named Human Resources Director in January, received the certification last month from GLGPA during their conference in Augusta.

To achieve the certification, Yarbrough was required to complete 12 classes and a learning project under the supervision of a Carl Vinson Institute of Government faculty member.

The GLGPA certification program is the only program in Georgia whereby local government employees may become certified in the Human Resources field. It is sponsored by GLGPA in conjunction with the Association County Commissioners of Georgia and the Georgia Municipal Association.

The program is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of those responsible for the management and administration of personnel systems in local government in Georgia.
