Dawson Co. Names School Teachers of the Year

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — Friday was a special day for educators in Dawson County as the Dawson County School System and Dawson County Chamber of Commerce held the annual Teachers of the Year luncheon.

Lyn Jackson Northside Hospital Forsyth Administrator was one of the featured speakers. Speaking to a packed house, she congratulated the honorees and said, “Education is everybody’s business. By workng together we can build a quality education for all our students.  Congratulations to you teachers and to your Superintendent and the School Board.

Christie Haynes then introduced the principal of each school who introduced their Teacher of the Year.

The recipients included Linda Sperin (Blacks Mill Elementary), Hillary Mullinax (Kilough Elementary), Lauren Stephenson (Riverview Elementary), Brittany Gaddis (Robinson Elementary), Cherie Powell (Dawson County Jr. High), Christie Downs (Dawson County Middle School) and Michelle Gee (Dawson County High School).
