DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — A police chase that started on Ga. 400 in Dawson County at 7:57 a.m. resulted in the arrest of a Gainesville man on charges of  fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, speeding, and driving under the influence.

Georgia State Patrol Corporal Travis Sanders reports a state trooper observed a 2019 Toyota Corolla traveling 85 mph in posted 55 mph speed zone traveling north on Georgia 400.

The driver of this vehicle was later identified as Jamee Hayes, age 26 of Gainesville.

Hayes fled from the trooper after the trooper attempted to perform a traffic stop. The pursuit traveled north onto Ga. 400 and then onto Ga. 136. The pursuit continued into Hall County and was brought to an end on Bark Camp Road in Hall County when the trooper performed a pursuit intervention technique.

Hayes was taken into custody and no injuries were reported as a result of the pursuit.
