Help Nugget and Zoey find a home

Please help Nugget and Zoey find a new furever home. The following was posted on social media by Monica Ivonne Stephens, pleading to the public to help these animals in need:

“I have very heavy heart and I am hoping you all can think of someone you know who can help these two and give them a loving home. This is Nugget and Zoey. Nugget is near and dear to me as I, along with Chris Weber and Jan Grissom were all volunteers at Gwinnett AC back in 2016 when he was on the “urgent list” I shared and shared him and the kindest couple saw the post, contacted me and asked if I would meet them at the shelter. The next day, they drove from Gainesville,we met and I brought this little shy guy out from the kennel area to meet them, and without hesitation, they adopted him. They were some of the sweetest people I had ever met and I was so grateful. We kept in touch through the years. About 4 years ago, they adopted Zoey, the little black pup here. All was perfect until their human moms health suddenly declined about two and a half years ago. She passed away unexpectedly, but they still had thier human dad. Just yesterday, I found out that her husband, and Nugget and Zoeys only human left was recently put in to hospice. One of their kids found me on FB and reached out to me asking for help to get them rehomed because nobody in the family can take these poor pups. I know the owners would be devastated if they knew family is not keeping them. They loved these dogs like their kids. Nugget is male, guessing around 11 years, hard of hearing but he loves everyone. I am not sure of Zoeys age either but I am going to guess 7 years. Both of them love to snuggle and sleep together and always slept with thier human dad and both would curl up on his lap together. I am hopeful someone can take them and show them the same love they are used to. Please let me know if you have any ideas. I asked them to please not take these two to the shelter, but I think time of the essence. You know how that goes:-(”
