PRESS RELEASE – Pickens County Fire was dispatched to a residential fire in a rural area near the Dawson County line off Hwy. 53 East around 10:30 AM this morning.
Upon arrival of Station 5, it was discovered that the fire was in Dawson County. Dawson County Fire was on scene and had initiated fire suppression efforts.
The structure was reported to be 75% involved with fire. There were no occupants home at the time of the fire. Several fire apparatuses were utilized to supply water to the scene.
Fire units remained on the scene well after noon to ensure complete extinguishment.
There were no injuries reported on this incident. Unit responding were Dawson County Fire, Pickens Fire Engine-51, Med-5, Engine-20 Med-2, Rehab 8, Yellow Creek Engine-90, Battalion-11 and Pickens County Fire Marshal.
