DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) confirmed on Friday that Dawson County has recorded its first confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19).
DPH updates its list of confirmed cases of 2019 novel coronavirus at noon and 7 p.m. each day. Today’s noon update shows the number of cases in Georgia has grown by 100 percent to 420.
DPH officials also announced that 420 total cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Georgia and the state’s death toll has climbed to 13. They expect the number of cases will increase as more people are tested.
Nearby Cherokee has reported 13 cases of coronavirus. Hall County has had five confirmed cases and Forsyth 3.
