Zack Tumlin announces run for State House Dist. 9

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Local attorney and entrepreneur Zack Tumlin formally announced this afternoon that he will seek election to the Georgia General Assembly through District 9 of the State House of Representatives covering all of Lumpkin County, most of Dawson County, and a small part of northern Forsyth County. Qualifying will begin on March 2, for the General Primary Election to be held on May 19, for the seat being vacated by State Representative Kevin Tanner, who is now running for United States Congress.

“I have been waiting on this opportunity my entire adult life,” says Tumlin, who studied law and politics at the University of Georgia and North Georgia College and State University. “I am thankful for Representative Tanner’s service to the community and wish him the best with his run for Congress. Public service has always been a passion of mine and it would be a distinct honor to represent the conservative values of the good people of House District 9 under the Gold Dome in Atlanta.”

Tumlin maintains law offices in Dawsonville and Dahlonega and currently serves as the Governmental Affairs Chairman for the Dahlonega Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Leadership Lumpkin, Leadership Dawson, and the Zell Miller Institute for better public policy in Georgia. Tumlin serves on numerous boards within the community and is actively engaged in charitable outreach. He and his wife, Lauren, own and operate Tumlin House – Dahlonega, and are the proud parents of their two young daughters, Tallye Kate (3) and Vera Haynes (1 month).
