On Saturday September 14, 2019, at the age of 89, Mary Ann Mavis passed away at North Georgia Assisted Living.
Mary Ann was a loving wife and mother. She had a lovely life traveling while her husband served in the military. She wrote a children’s book about a Tooth Smile. She also sewed dresses made from rare beads she collected while traveling overseas. In 1996 she and her husband signed on with Habitat for Humanity traveling from state to state to build houses for the less fortunate. Mary Ann was preceded in death by a son, Bruce David Mavis.
She is survived by Lt. Col. Arthur L. Mavis, Jr.; a daughter, Lisa M. Mavis; a son, Neil James Mavis; grandchildren, Elaine Goodman, Stetson, Sproul, Alston Brown; and great grandchildren, Everett Mavis, Amanda Mavis, Asher Mavis, Zachary Baldwin, Allison Baldwin, and Cole Goodman.
