Hazel Smith Wallace, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday March 13, 2018 following a period of declining health.
Born December 18, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Rufus and Estelle Smith, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting. She was of the Baptist faith. Also preceding her in death were her husband of 68 years, Clayton Stowers Wallace; daughter, Eleanor Wallace Swafford, and two sisters.
Surviving are her son in law, Gerald Swafford, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Beth and Brent Covington, Dawsonville; sister in law, Grace Pirkle, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 15, 2018 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Stephen Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
