Mr. Matthew J. “Matt” Kozik: Obituary

Matthew J. “Matt” Kozik, 40, of Dawsonville passed away Friday November 17, 2017 following a sudden illness.

Born September 15, 1977 in Illinois, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 13 years having moved from Jasper. Mr. Kozik was an automobile technician for Pep Boys in Cumming. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a devoted husband, father and son.

Surviving are his wife, Laura Kozik, Dawsonville; children, Hayden, Nyla, Lukas; parents, Valentine and Susan Kozik, Blairsville; sister and brother in law, Peggy and Michael Denton, Robbinsville, NC; father in law and mother in law, Richard and Mary Lundy, Dawsonville; sister in law, Kelly Anderson, Dawsonville; brother in law and sister in law, Andrew and Lisa Lundy, Waleska; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 22, 2017 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mike Owens will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the funeral home.
