Mr. Lane Bailey: Obituary

Lane Bailey, 85, of Oakwood passed away Saturday August 5, 2017 at New Horizons Lanier Park following a period of declining health.

Born March 12, 1932 in Dawson County to the late Bill and Dora Bailey, he lived most of his life in Hall County. Mr. Bailey retired from Gold Kist 36 after years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Lane was also preceded in death by his wife, Marell Bailey; sister, Eunice Sosebee Beck; and a brother, Juno “Bud” Bailey.

Surviving are his children, Ray and Margaret Bailey, Gainesville, Sheila and Jack McAllister, Atlanta, Terry Bailey, Gainesville, Mike Bailey, Oakwood; his first wife of 46 years and the mother of his children, Mildred Bailey, Oakwood; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; sisters and brother in law, Mildred Adams, Trion, GA, Ruby and Ed Lipscomb, Pelzer, SC; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 11, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joe Vernon will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
