Mildred Darnell Lowe: Obituary

Mildred Darnell Lowe, 82, of Hampton, GA passed away Sunday February 5, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born September 4, 1934 to the late Loland and Ethel Darnell, she had been a resident of Hampton for the past 32 years. In the 1960’s Mildred owned and operated a beauty shop in Dawsonville and continued her career after she left Dawson County. A member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, she was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lowe, and a sister, Myrtis Ray.

Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Lowe, Hampton; son and daughter in law, Jeffrey and Jennifer Lowe, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Lauren Swords, Amber and Jacob Popphan, Austin Lowe, Colin Smith; sisters, Louise Kent, Gladys Bennett, Mamie Reeves, all of Dawsonville; a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Magness and Rev. Chris Magness will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 until 8.
