Mr. Roy “Jeep” Lance: Obituary

Roy “Jeep” Lance, 73, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday November 2, 2016 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born May 5, 1943 to the late Hoyt and Elda Lance, Mr. Lance also lived a number of years in Lumpkin County. Jeep possessed a great passion for gardening and in his younger years he enjoyed the time he spent making moonshine. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and his family was his life. Mr. Lance was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Lance; sister, Gail Lance; and brothers, Jeff Lance and Nickey Lance.

Surviving are his children, Jeff and Marie Lance, Dahlonega, Denise and Lloyd Chester, Dawsonville, Donna and Daniel Turner, Cumming, Troy Bridges, Dahlonega; grandchildren, Jesse Lance, Jacob Lance, Josie Lance, Jade Jordan, Kaleb Jordan, Joseph and Courtney Edgil, Cheyenne Chester, Danielle Turner, Charity Bridges, Autumn Bridges; great grandchildren, Rylee Edgil, Kovi Edgil; sisters and brother in law, Ellen Lance, Dahlonega, Torina Walls and Wyatt Bales, Dawsonville, Wanda Britt, Winder; brother and sister in law, Tim Lance and Betty Stripland, Cumming; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 7, 2016 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Lloyd Chester will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

The family will receive friends Sunday From 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
