Barbara Jo Townsend Daniel, 74, of Dawsonville passed away Friday August 12, 2016 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born April 10, 1942 to the late Charles and Dessie Townsend she had been a resident of Dawsonville for most of her life. Barbara Jo was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and worked as a custodian at Dawson County High School for a number of years until retiring in 2008. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed reading and playing games with her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three children, Georgiana Martin , Nan Daniel, and Joe Daniel.
Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Clifton and Jane Daniel, Dawsonville; sisters, Dot Sheffield, Dawsonville, Ann Gee, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Tommy and Lula Townsend, Cumming; son in law, Randall Martin, Cumming; grandchildren, Heath Martin, Dillon Martin, Christian Barr, Christopher Daniel, Caitlin Daniel, Kayse Redmon, Abbey Redmon, Libby Redmon; great-grandchildren, Easton, Grayson, Kyleigh, Harper; a number of other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Monday August 15, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bottoms, Rev. Rodney Pilcher, and Rev. Danny Ray Martin will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5pm until 8pm and Monday from 12 noon until the service hour.
