Body Found in Lake Lanier Identified

HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators have positively identified the body found floating in Lake Lanier last Sunday as that of 18-year-old Estelle Kouassi of Winder.

Kouassi was reported missing on March 3. Using her description, medical and dental records, investigators were able to confirm that she was the person pulled from the lake.

There was no trauma found on her body and the medical examiner has been unable to determine the cause of death.

Hall County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Deputy Nicole Bailes said in a statement “investigators have spoken with the family members and friends of Kouassi and foul play is not suspected in her death.
