HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Hall County authorities are trying to identify the badly decomposed body of a female that was found floating in Lake Lanier by two fishermen Sunday.
The men discovered the body near the Dawsonville Highway bridge not far from the Dawson County line.
Hall County spokeswoman Nicole Bailes said the body has been sent to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.
“We’re going to go back with our investigators and we’re going to check any missing persons records and we’re going to work with any neighboring agencies with their missing persons records, as well,” Bailes said.
Hall County Fire Services used its marine rescue boat to retrieve the body from the water.
No further details were available as of 9 a.m. Monday.
