Maxine Taylor Bailey Holtzclaw, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Monday March 28, 2016 at Gold City Nursing Center following a period of declining health.
Maxine was born August 14, 1924 in Dawson County to the late Grover and Caroline Taylor. Although she lived most of her life in Dawson County, she lived a few years in both Hall and Forsyth Counties. A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed by various clothing manufacturers. A member of Harmony Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, John Bealand “Beech” Bailey and Walter C. Holtzclaw; son, Jerry Lyndon Bailey; sister, Wilda Bailey; and brother Morris Taylor.
Surviving are her children, Larry and Sylvia Bailey, Sherry and Floyd Duncan, Marcus Bailey, all of Dawsonville; sister, Erva Pirkle, Lawrenceville; sister in law, Helen Taylor, Dawsonville; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 30, 2016 at 11 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
