Betty Jo Greeson Barker: Obituary

Betty Jo Greeson Barker, age 81, a long-time resident of Dawsonville, GA (formerly of Gainesville, GA) passed away peacefully on March 22, 2016 surrounded by her family and loved ones. Betty was born in 1934 in Buford, GA and grew up in Rabbitown, GA.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Dee Barker; parents, John and Anna Belle Greeson; brother, Lymon Greeson; sisters, Louise and Delores Kinsey; daughter, Cecelia Clark, and grandson, Dee Jay Clark.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Junior (Yvonne) Barker, Dawsonville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandi (Allen) Barrett, Dawsonville, GA, Debbie (Jeff) Wilson, Winder, GA, and Denise (Doug) Oliver, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Keith Lyle, Lauren Kirk, Erica Barker, Bobbie Ann Clark, Emily Duey, Chelsea Oliver, and Jessica Barker, and great-grandchild, Camden Lyle.

Betty enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family. She also had a passion for gardening and enjoyed her flowers.

Funeral services for Betty are scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 116 Mill Creek Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534. Rev. Tim Pruitt and Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery beside her husband.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home, Dahlonega, GA on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 11 AM to 9 PM and again on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 10 AM to 1 PM.
