Clain Swafford, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Friday February 12, 2016 at Tanglewood Assisted Living following a period of declining health.
Born May 13, 1924 in Forsyth County to the late Hugh and Alice Swafford, he lived most of his life in Smyrna and Dawson County. Mr. Swafford retired from Montag and Mead Paper Company after over 42 years of service. Clain served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of Juno Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lemma Swafford, daughter, Brenda Diane Swafford; sister, Grace Swafford; brothers, Grady Swafford, Carl Swafford, Herman Swafford and Harold Swafford.
Surviving are special friends and caregivers, Tony and Karen Weaver, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday February 14, 2016 at 4 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dennis Bottoms and Rev. Gerral Richards will officiate. Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.
A visitation will be held Sunday from 1 until 4 at the funeral home.
