Dawson County Detention Center Receives Prestigious Recognition

The Dawson County Detention Center recently received a very prestigious recognition that very few law enforcement agencies can claim. The detention center’s medical component received Accreditation through the Medical Association of Georgia.

This atypical accomplishment is one that our county can be very proud of. Dawson County is one of only nine counties to obtain this Accreditation.

Major Jeff Johnson states, “It indicates that proactive steps are being taken to improve the delivery and quality of medical services within the detention center. This achievement will serve to increase the quality of services delivered, increase accountability and should reduce the county’s exposure to liability.”

They congratulate their contracted medical services provider Correcthealth and the outstanding detention staff. They also wish to say thank you for their dedication and efforts in achieving this recognition.
