Howard Lee Carnes, age 83, of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Mr. Carnes was born in Forsyth County to the late Soloman Robert and Margaret Self Carnes.  He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Martha Carnes, Ausbon Carnes, Leota Carnes, John Carnes, and Marshall Carnes.  Mr. Carnes was a textile worker at New Holland Mill for 45 years.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Margaret Renee Carnes, Gaffney, South Carolina; son, Vince Carnes, Gainesville; daughter, Sony Jones Lopez; grandchildren, Victoria Carnes, Justin Carnes, Jessica Carnes, Casey Jones, Heath Jones, Cody Lopez, Dallas, and Angel; sister, Kathleen Dorsey, Gillsville; brothers, William Carnes, Cleveland, and Robert Carnes, Banks County.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Merck will officiate. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Cumming.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, December 3, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mr. Duncan was born on August 1, 1947, in South Carolina, to the late Frank and Martha Long Duncan. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include his daughter, Alicia Duncan, Cleveland; son, David Stanley Duncan, Jr., Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Blake Summers and Candace Duncan; sister, Loretta Wade (Keith), Carnesville, and Sylvia Dove, Oakwood.

Paul “Nelson” Chambliss

July 10, 1941 – November 28, 2018

Paul Nelson Chambliss, age 77 of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Mr. Chambliss was born on July 10, 1941, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Paul and LaVerne Chambliss.  He worked as a pharmaceutical representative but his passion was gun shows and World War II memorabilia.  Paul was of the Baptist faith and loved his daughter dearly.

Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Chambliss, Cleveland; grand dog, Sonny Chambliss; great grand dog, Sammy Chambliss.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:30 P.M. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home 118 N. Brook St Cleveland, Ga 30528.  The Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:30 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Loney Jim Gravitt, age 70, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018.

Mr. Gravitt was born to the late Luther and Fannie Mae Williamson Gravitt. He was preceded in death by parents, brother, David Gravitt, and sister, Linda Gravitt.  Mr. Gravitt was a Line Engineer for AT&T and a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife of 49 years, Glenda Gravitt, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Gravitt and Elizabeth Almond, Sandy Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Chris Roden, Cleveland; son, Rodney Gravitt, Cleveland; grandchildren, Harley Gravitt, Luke Gravitt, Olivia Gravitt, and Craig and Heather Roden; sister-in-law, Peggy Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 PM Sunday, December 2, 2018 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Steve Williamson will officiate.  Interment will follow in Mossy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Saturday, December 1, 2018 and 3:30-4:30 PM Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Thelma Leigh Seabolt Lance, age 76 of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018.

Mrs. Lance was born on December 16, 1941, in Union County, to the late Arch and Julia Wilkins Seabolt. She retired from Talon and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Thelma was preceded in death by her brothers, J.D. Seabolt and Fletcher Seabolt; sister, Gladys Wehunt.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jerry Lance, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Tracy Allen, Cleveland, and Debra and Darryl Moler, Cleveland; grandchildren, Morgan and Blake Daniel and Trey Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ronald Connery, Altamonte Springs, FL; sisters, Callie Copelan, Mt. Airy, and Hilda Fain, Helen; sister-in-law, Sarah Hamilton, Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Francis Seabolt, Hartwell; special friends, Robby Owenby and Barbara Owenby; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Brandon Hester will officiate. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary Alice Kapise, age 70 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018. Mrs. Kapise was born in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Charlie Will and Virginia Lynch Franklin. She resided in Macon, Georgia as well as Lizella, Georgia before moving to White County in 1986. Mrs. Kapise was of the Methodist faith and loved doing her crafts such as sewing and painting.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step son Danny Kapise.

Mrs. Kapise is survived by her husband Thomas Kapise Sr. of Cleveland; her daughter Jennifer Tomlin of Cleveland; step son Barry Kapise of Manchester, Tennessee, step daughter Tammy Pettinato of LaVerne, Tennessee, and Tommy Kapise Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in law Frances (Bruce) Hawkins of Pontotoc, Texas and brother and sister-in law Billy (Ann) Franklin of Thomaston, Georgia; her granddaughters Lexi and Aly Tomlin; as well as 15 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M Saturday, December 8, 2018 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Elrod officiating.
