Help our firefighters give burns the boot

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – Dawson County Emergency Services is once again participating in the “Give Burns the Boot” drive. Their effort began Thursday and will continue through Saturday, May 27, on behalf of the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. Monies raised help provide needed supplies and treatment for children who are burn victims, as well as help provide camp experiences for them. Ten percent of the collection will be returned to Dawson County Emergency Services to be used for fire safety and burn prevention programs within Dawson County.

“Boot collections” will take place at the following locations:

• Kroger Shopping Center;

• Intersection of state Routes 9 and 53;

• North Gate at Big Canoe; and

• Intersection of Lumpkin Campground Road and Grizzle Road.
